“GODSPELL” Underway for the FCS Players!
The FCS Players are pleased to announce the casting of their 2008 Spring Production – the hit Broadway musical GODSPELL! Based on the Gospel According to St. Matthew, and featuring a sparkling score by Stephen Schwartz (Musical composer for Disney’s POCAHONTAS, THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME, DreamWorks' THE PRINCE OF EGYPT, and the current Broadway hit WICKED), “GODSPELL” boasts a string of well-loved songs, led by the international hit, “Day By Day.” As the cast performs “Prepare Ye The Way Of The Lord,” “Learn Your Lessons Well,” “All For The Best,” “All Good Gifts,” “Turn Back, O Man” and “By My Side,” the parables of Jesus Christ come humanly and heartwarmingly to life. Drawing from various theatrical traditions, such as clowning, pantomime, charades, acrobatics and vaudeville, “GODSPELL” is a groundbreaking and unique reflection on the life of Jesus, with a message of kindness, forgiveness and love. “GODSPELL” is a true “ensemble” production – meaning the entire cast will each play many parts and share in the performance of the dynamic musical numbers, but audiences are sure to enjoy the key performances of three “FCS Players’ favorites” – Alex Cesena as John the Baptist, Kyle Martin as Judas, and Joey Reimers portraying Jesus. The “GODSPELL” company/ensemble includes Danielle Best, Josh Betts, Ben Cremer, Katie DeMeritt, Kessie Endsley, Alexa Ernstam, Jessica Hoffart, Angela Lee, Jessica Levey, Larissa May, Cameron Ripley, Zach Samay, Alycia Scheidel, Nicole Shirley, Stephanie Sluder, Moriah Thomas, Katharine Tollenaar, Emily Ward, Katelynne Warta, Justin Weeks and Caleb Zurakowski. Don’t miss what is sure to be the hit of the Yuba-Sutter spring 2008 entertainment calendar, directed by FCS Players Artistic Director Paul DeMeritt, with FCS Players Musical Directors Jeff Poppinga and Lana Dodd – and see why print and broadcast media moguls alike said the following about “GODSPELL” –
